South Asian Heritage Trust is a volunteer-led organisation. The vast majority of our work, from delivering South Asian Heritage Month to running education programmes, community events and digital campaigns, is made possible by people who give their time with genuine commitment. Volunteers are not a supplement to what we do. They are central to how we operate.

We are committed to creating a positive and well-supported volunteer experience, ensuring everyone feels valued, prepared and connected to the wider mission of the Trust.

Our programme runs year-round, carefully coordinated to align with the Trust's strategic priorities and delivered within a structured, supportive framework.

What you'll do

Volunteer opportunities

Volunteering opportunities span events, digital, education, research and community engagement. There is a role for every skill set and level of availability.

Events & Exhibitions
Support live and online events, exhibitions and public programmes — from planning and logistics through to on-the-day delivery across the UK.
Digital Content & Storytelling
Contribute to digital content creation, archiving, storytelling initiatives and social media — helping amplify South Asian voices and heritage narratives.
Education & Schools Outreach
Assist with school outreach, youth engagement and oral history projects — supporting the integration of South Asian histories into learning environments.
Research & Administration
Help with administration, research projects, grant support and campaign coordination — contributing to the organisational infrastructure of the Trust.
Community Engagement
Support regional and community programmes, helping to build connections across South Asian communities, diaspora networks and partner organisations.
Specialist & Professional
Bring your professional expertise — in PR, communications, law, finance, tech, design or fundraising — to support the Trust's strategic work and development.
