A large research project on multilingualism and ageing (MultiAge), focusing on multilinguals who speak English and Mirpuri-Pahari-Pothwari and/or Panjabi is currently ongoing at the Department of Psychology, University of York. Our team is looking for younger adults (18-30 years old) and older adults (62-74 years old) to take part in a study looking at multilingual language production and how that changes throughout the generations. The study includes naming and describing some pictures of objects and of common daily scenes, in English or the other language. It involves also a questionnaire about language use throughout life and in different situations, and a short 5-minute interview to talk about common topics like favourite book or movie using both languages. The session in in-person at a location of the participant’s convenience and takes approximately 2.5 hours. As a token of thank you, participants will be compensated with a £25 Amazon voucher.
More information about the project can be found on our website (multiage.github.io). The website also includes a video in Mirpuri-Pahari-Pothwari, explaining the project, which can also be accessed directly through here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HZkDwWFoiQE
