Breaking Stigma

I am a dedicated psychotherapist who has carved a path of compassion and understanding in a field where my community’s representation has historically been limited. Growing up in a South Asian community where discussing feelings was often overlooked, I understand firsthand the challenges of seeking emotional support in such an environment. This personal experience fuels my commitment to support others who find themselves in similar situations. Growing up around the South Asian community where we don’t talk about our feelings can be challenging.

My work is characterised by relentless effort to break down the stigma surrounding mental health, particularly within South Asian communities. As a proud South Asian woman, I have made it my mission to challenge and change cultural norms that dictate rigid roles for men and women, advocating instead for open conversations about emotions and mental well-being.

My professional journey is marked by significant achievements, including impactful work with men in prison, helping them navigate and heal from trauma. This role is a testament to my belief that everyone deserves access to compassionate and effective mental health support, regardless of their background or circumstances.

My approach is deeply empathetic and culturally sensitive, ensuring that her clients feel heard, understood, and accepted. I always strive to create a therapeutic environment where cultural nuances are respected and integrated into the healing process. Through my work, I not only provide a vital mental health service but also serves as a beacon of change, inspiring others within my community to embrace and prioritise mental wellness.
