Volunteer Discovery Morning at The Gurkha Museum Trust

Are you curious about volunteering at The Gurkha Museum?  Come along to our Volunteer Discovery Morning and discover how you can get involved. 

Join us at The Gurkha Museum on Monday 16 March 2026 to learn more about the rewarding volunteering opportunities available at the Museum supporting the Collections, Front of House, and/or Education and Outreach teams.    

During the morning, you will hear about the Museum, the opportunities, and explore our handling collection, which is used with school groups, family activities, and community events.  You will have the chance to meet current volunteers, hear first-hand about their experiences, and ask any questions you may have. 

Outline timings: 

• Arrive from 1000 hrs for refreshments 

• 1030hrs the programme starts 

• Finish at midday 

• Join for light sandwich lunch (pre-booking required) 

As we plan the re-opening of the redeveloped public galleries, volunteers will be critical to help share the extraordinary story of the Gurkhas and their service to the Crown, support visitors from around the world, and play a vital role in preserving an important heritage for future generations.
