SHAMIYANA
Shamiyana – A ceremonial canopy co-designed with community groups across Wandsworth
Step beneath a colourful, handmade, block-printed shamiyana, a traditional South Asian tent ceiling; designed by artist Roopa Basu and brought to life through a series of hands-on workshops.
This textile installation explores themes of shelter, story and belonging. You will also find block-print inspired artwork and a small selection of South Asian literature to enjoy.
Come in, look up,
and linger a while.
