Open Call for Performers and Facilitators! (Edinburgh-Based)

A poster invites performers and facilitators to join St Cecilia’s South Asian Heritage Month Community Day, featuring music, dance, and workshops, with sign-up details and a QR code.

St. Cecilia’s Music Museum and Concert Hall is currently recruiting performers and workshop facilitators for an upcoming community day on the 16th of August, to celebrate South Asian Heritage Month 2025. You could be a musician, a dancer, a henna artist etc. You’re also welcome to apply as a group, with a maximum of 5 people per group.

We acknowledge that museum spaces often exclude the very source communities that their collections are supposed to represent. St. Cecilia’s Hall hopes that this will be the beginning of a partnership with local South Asian communities, which will lead to more collaborations in the future. We want our Concert Hall to be a venue that hosts a diverse range of performances throughout the year, and we hope that this community day will be the first of many events to come.

We are currently prioritising applications from those who identify as South Asian. However, if you are not South Asian, but you perform South Asian music or dance, please feel free to still apply.
Examples of what you could do:

  • a musical/dance performance in the Concert Hall (up to 45 mins)
  • a demonstration/workshop about a musical instrument (up to 45 mins)
  • a dance workshop (up to 90 mins)
  • a henna workshop (half-day)

Each performer/workshop facilitator will be paid £50.This form will close on the 20th of June, at 5pm.
