Madhubani Paintings Exhibit at Glasgow Women’s Library

In rural India women from traditional communities practice an art form that captures the legends and mythology of ancient culture, using richly coloured freehand figures, deliberately out of scale curves and miniaturisations to reflect the mixing of art and life
To celebrate South Asian Heritage Month Glasgow Women’s Library will be exhibiting their beautiful collection of Madhubani paintings, as well as speaking to expert Ihitashri Shandilya, to find out more about an art recognised the world over for the deeply meaningful stories it portrays.
This Exhibition is Free and Wheelchair accessible
