Life Drawing at Villages Taproom for South Asian Heritage Month
Join us for an evening of life drawing for South Asian Heritage month. Through different drawing exercises and clothed poses, we’ll explore themes of movement, adornment and body as a site of art and heritage.
Tickets can be purchased on our Eventbrite page.
There will be chai, tunes and snacks and a drinks bar. No previous experience is necessary – all abilities are welcome. All materials provided or feel free to bring your own!
Dance artist Meera (@_meera) will be our model for the evening, drawing inspiration from her South Asian roots, Kathak training and experimental artist practice.
Music curator Reyhaan (@reycharlesday) will be soundtracking the session live, with South Asian selections from across eras and genres.
Your host. Charu runs a regular life drawing session at our venue, Villages Taproom. Charu’s Indian heritage inspired her to organise a themed session for SAHM 2025, which offers others a chance to practice life drawing while connecting to their cultural heritage.
