Lage Raho Munna Bhai film screening
The film, a major box office success, popularized the term Gandhigiri which refers to the practice of the ideals of Mahatma Gandhi. It was the first Hindi film to be screened at the United Nations and was screened at the Tous Les Cinémas du Monde section of the 2007 Cannes Film Festival.
Additionally, the screening will feature live dance performances before the film from South Asian Arts-uk (SAA-uk), a pioneering Leeds based charity organisation, focused on celebrating and educating South Asian Classical dance and music, as well as pushing the boundaries of how traditional and contemporary South Asian performing arts are taught, performed and experienced by audiences.
