Dharma, translating to cosmic law, inherent to the eternal nature of reality. The year long, ongoing, body of work visualises these notions. Shifting between reality and fiction, the work explores themes of connection, mysticism, introspection and nuances of a Hindu lifestyle. By using the photographic process as a metaphor, it reflects my personal discovery of seeking the truth within oneself, a connection and practice that is different for everyone. Produced in response to personal curiosities and disconnect I faced with beliefs that were projected onto me as a child, the body of work has evolved into an exploration of reclaiming part of my identity away from the white gaze. Though discovering the science of consecration and historic revelations alluding to the 'beyond', the project has been a process of learning and unlearning about the reality of the concept of Hinduism.
