Celebrate World Book Day at The Gurkha Museum Library
Thursday 5 March 2026 | 1000 –1600 | Free admission
Celebrate World Book Day 2026 at the Library of The Gurkha Museum, the global reference centre for Gurkha heritage. Home to more than 3,500 volumes, the Library offers a rich collection of books exploring the history, service, and culture of the Gurkhas.
Among the highlights available to read on the day will be copies of the limited-edition, two-volume box set Warriors from the Himalayas. This significant publication chronicles the lives and service of Gurkha veterans and their families through first-hand testimony, meticulous historical research, and rare imagery. Drawing on decades of interviews and archival material, the volumes preserve the voices and experiences of senior Gurkha soldiers, offering a powerful insight into their service, resilience, and enduring legacy.
Admission is free, and donations to support the Museum’s work and temporary exhibitions are warmly appreciated. This World Book Day, visitors are invited to discover why the stories of the Gurkhas continue to resonate across generations and continents.
