Delivered by and for South Asians, Ahista Stories Live is back for its third year with workshops celebrating mending techniques and heritage South Asian crafts, along with talks exploring the fashion system.
At Ahista Stories we reject the idea that buying better is the only solution to exploitation and waste in fashion. Ahista Stories Live creates space to unpack the root causes of climate injustice; reflect on our personal relationship with clothes; and go back to the basics of hand-sewing skills.
Whether you’re a keen crafter or eager to build a more just, sustainable world, Ahista Stories Live has something for everyone.
General Admission tickets include:
- admission to all talks
- admission to three workshops (scroll to ‘Agenda’ for more info)
- free tea and snacks
- networking
A choice of five other workshops require tickets additional to General Admission and will be bookable a few days before the festival. Scroll to ‘Agenda’ to find out which ones and follow us here on Eventbrite to be notified when tickets are released. Spots will be limited so we urge you to browse the agenda in advance and book workshop tickets as soon as they are released!
About the venue: Poplar Union is fully wheelchair accessible and opens out onto a park for quick access to fresh air. Tea, coffee and a prayer space will be provided, with further refreshments available for purchase from the cafe on site. Find more info here.
