Black Country Multicultural Day
Black Country Multicultural Day 2025 is taking place on Saturday 19th July from 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM in Somers Square, Halesowen, and promises to be a vibrant, family-friendly celebration of cultural diversity, creativity, and community unity.
Now in its fifth year, the event continues to grow in size, impact, and inclusivity—bringing together people of all backgrounds through music, dance, art, and shared history. It’s free to attend and part of the official Black Country Festival.
🎉 What to Expect in Somers Square:
- Opening speeches at 11:00 AM by the Deputy Lord Lieutenant, Mayor of Dudley, and West Midlands Police & Crime Commissioner
- A full programme of live performances, including:
- Life Central Church Band
- Ukrainian dancers (Tiny Mriya and Mriya Adult Group)
- Chinese Lion Dance
- Cre Art Collective
- Red Neck Woman
- Talent Show Winner and more
- Headliners: Bhangra Smash Up and Strictly Abba
- Line up Subject to Change
- Children’s fair rides, free face painting, arts & crafts, and cosplay characters creating fun and excitement throughout the square
- A Caribbean heritage pop-up exhibition exploring the post-war industrial history of Dudley and the contributions of Caribbean migrants between 1950–1970
🎨 Inside Cornbow Shopping Centre (12:30–3:30 PM):
- Interactive dance workshops (Caribbean & Bhangra)
- Origami demonstrations
- Glitter tattoos
- Performances from Jodi Dancers and RNR Entertainments
🚗 Parking & Access
- Parking is available at Cornbow Shopping Centre multi-storey and Birmingham Street car park
- Indoor performers and stallholders have allocated parking at Asda (reimbursed if needed)
