Tape Letters Exhibition: Ashton-under Lyne
The Tape Letters project shines light on the practice of recording and sending messages on cassette tape as a mode of communication by Pakistanis who migrated and settled in the UK between 1960-1980.
Tape Letters: Ashton platforms the stories of individuals and families in Ashton-under-Lyne.
Opening on 21st July 2024 in Ashton Library, visitors can listen to recordings, read transcripts and see photographs of people from the local community.
Delivered by Modus Arts in partnership with the Heritage Fund, Arts Council England, Tameside Council, and the UK Shared Prosperity Fund.
