South Asian Heritage Month: A Talk on South Asian Literature

Celebrate South Asian Heritage Month with an online author panel event, hosted by independent publisher Neem Tree Press.

They’re joined by three of their authors: Safinah Danish Elahi, Maithreyi Karnoor, and Taha Kehar, to talk about South Asian literary heritage and the achievements and contributions of South Asian writers from around the world.

Safinah, Maithreyi, and Taha will be speaking about their own experiences as authors living in Pakistan and India, and how this has influenced their respective novels: The Idle Stance of the Tippler PigeonSylvia and No Funeral for Nazia (Neem Tree Press).

South Asian Heritage Month takes place between the 18th July and 17th August (the anniversary of the Partition of India). South Asian Heritage Month is an opportunity for people to honour and promote the ongoing achievements and contributions of South Asian communities across the globe, and to highlight  a rich cultural heritage and history.

Throughout the month, there will be various events, exhibitions, performances, and educational activities taking place – offering people many opportunities to get involved in this important celebration of South Asian heritage.
