Heart of the Nation Exhibition
Exhibition & Family Friendly Workshop
Saturday 22nd July | 11am-4pm drop in anytime
Leicester Museum and Art Gallery
Open to all, free to attend
Produced by the Migration Museum, the Heart of the Nation exhibition shares the experiences of people who have migrated to Britain over the past 75 years and worked in the NHS, and how they have played a vital role in shaping the NHS into the beloved institution it is today. Bringing together photography, film, oral histories, singing and storytelling, this exhibition creates an interactive experience that tells these important and untold stories.
Join us to take a look at the exhibition and take part in a fun and sensory art workshop, working with AIS festival artists Shamila Chady and Ismail Khokon. Using natural and tactile materials, we’ll be creating symbols and signs that represent what wellbeing, health, care and journeys means to you.
This event has been produced in collaboration with the Migration Museum, and Leicester Museum & Art Gallery.
This year’s AIS Festival Weekend is happening across Leicester city centre locations from Friday 21st July – Sunday 23rd July.
