Led by Sudha Bhuchar, currently starring alongside Nicole Kidman in Prime Video’s series ‘Expats,‘ the event will delve into the diverse aspects of motherhood and offers a safe space for inspiring conversations with female artists and cultural practitioners.
About Sudha Bhuchar
Sudha co-founded Tamasha Theatre Company with Kristine Landon-Smith in 1989, producing works like A Fine Balance and the musical Fourteen Songs Two Weddings and a Funeral. Other notable writing credits include Balti Kings and the BBC series Doctors.
Sudha’s more recent works include Touchstone Tales, French like Faiza, and A Final Farewell. She has written and performs a one-woman show, Evening Conversations and has acted in various plays, TV shows like Coronation Street and Noughts and Crosses and films such as Mogul Mowgli and Mary Poppins Returns. Her extensive radio work includes narrating Book at Bedtime and roles in The Archers.
As a dramaturg and mentor, Sudha supports emerging writers and has worked with numerous theatre companies as a teacher and workshop leader. She has received several awards, including the Tongues on Fire’s Flame Award and recognition for her contributions to the arts with Kristine Landon-Smith.
