DESCRIPTION:\n\nA day of relaxation, connection, and empowerment for women on the Lincolnshire Coast\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nJoin us for a rejuvenating day of connection, reflection, and creativity by the beautiful Lincolnshire coast and the serene Rimac National Nature Reserve (NNR).\nThis is a dedicated event for women of colour to come together, share mindful moments, and strengthen your connection with nature.\n🧘‍♀️ Seated Ocean Flow Yoga, Ocean Generation\nFind balance, peace, and deep connection to the ocean through a gentle, seated yoga session on Marblethorpe seafront—perfect for all abilities.\n🎨 Mandala Art Inspired by Nature, Her Khaani\nExplore your creativity by crafting mandalas using natural materials, guided by the coast waves and hues.\n🌍 Learn About Ocean Conservation, South Asians For Sustainability\nDiscover practical ways to live more sustainably and protect our oceans for future generations by inspiring talks.\n🌾 Afternoon: Walk, Listen, and Be Inspired at Rimac Nature Reserve (10 minute drive)\n🚶🏽‍♀️A gentle walk and talk, with pauses, for approximately one hour.\n📖Hear from Renata, Nature England who works on the nature reserve – Stories in the Sands: Learn more about the life of sand dunes, why sand dunes are important and enjoy listening to a collection of people’s stories from the ‘Sands of Time’ book.\nPlease note, the location for this event is an unusual and special coastal environment – relaxing for people, and a haven for wildlife.\nThere are limited spaces available, so book your ticket now! https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/blue-horizons-women-of-colour-connecting-by-the-coast-tickets-1397266544849  ( https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/blue-horizons-women-of-colour-connecting-by-the-coast-tickets-1397266544849 )\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nEvent Instructions\nPlease dress comfortably and appropriately for a day outdoors.\nHere’s what we recommend:\n● Clothing: wear comfortable, weather-appropriate clothes. Layers are a good idea as temperatures can change throughout the day.\n● Footwear: sturdy, closed-toe shoes like trainers or walking boots are essential for the guided walk and uneven ground at the nature reserve. Please avoid sandals or slip-ons.\n● Lunch and drinks: bring your own lunch for eating outdoors and bottled water or juice.\n● Weather preparation: bring a waterproof jacket in case of rain, and sun protection (hat, sunglasses, sunscreen) if it’s sunny. Please note in the event of heavy wet weather, the event will move indoors into the Eco Classroom at the Rimac NNR.\n● Yoga session: if you’re taking part in the seated yoga, wear loose, comfortable clothing that allows for gentle movement. No prior experience of yoga is required. Bring a blanket, cushion or camping chair for the seated yoga on the beach.\n● Carparking: coins/ Pay by Phone app\n\nWho is this for:\nWomen of Colour – with 5 places reserved for women from Lincolnshire\nNo previous experience of yoga, creative activities or nature reserves needed!\nThe day is designed for a range of mobilities, with a gentle walk that last no longer than 45 minutes with stops. We are sorry there is no wheelchair access to the beach; the nature reserve is wheelchair accessible. Supervised children are welcome but please email us so we can account for the capacity.\nThere is no cost to attend. This event has been made possible by the support of the four organisations hosting. If you sign up then can’t make it, please give us as much notice so we can plan ahead and release spaces if necessary.
